Vitality Run Series
In 2014 Events Crew were engaged by Achieve Events (now Virgin Sport) to be the main contractor for a new eight race series that would take in seven of the best half marathons and one major 10k event under the title sponsorship of Vitality insurance.
Events Crews primary services for the series included – barrier and fencing install and supply - gantry install and supply - branding install, storage and management – Series equipment logistics
Hackney Half, North London Half, Reading Half, Liverpool Half, Brighton Half, Bath Half, Oxford Half and the British 10k came together to form the Vitality Run Series, and it was the ambition of the organisers and title sponsor that the experience of participants would be equally as good at either event they attended. Because of this, it became critical that a main contractor was engaged who could offer a variety of services and a high level of consistency in the standards achieved when building and branding mass participation start/finish areas, race hubs, routes and was on hand and willing to solve any issues as they occurred.
Events Crew experienced a great number of successes throughout the three years of the series, but also helped the main operator overcome a number of challenges. Those challenges covered a vast array of areas but most notably included the desire of the operating company to have solid clad gantries at all events regardless of location or set-up time – Events Crew solved this with both a logistical solution and engineering a quick clamp solution to produce a finished product that the client, sponsor and our team were very proud of, every time.
Additionally, the main sponsor rebranded on a number of occasions during the three year term, this required the original brand to be cleansed from stock and new branding to be stored and managed accordingly. Events Crews ability to dry store branding, sort and inventory the stock before transporting and installing to the next venue, gave the operators and sponsors piece of mind for a valued and critical aspect of the series.
For a number of events in the series, Events Crew also supplied services including - route signage install - water station logistics – temporary power – PA systems - bespoke solutions
During the series, the title sponsor even came to find that entrusting Events Crew to install their bespoke tent structure and iconic runner structure (see photo gallery) was by far the most cost efficient way to ensure safe and timely installation of the structures took place.
